Permits to visit Kapiti Island must be obtained from
the Department of Conservation telephone (04) 472 7356.

Ferry departs from Paraparaumu Beach
daily at either 9.00 or 9.30 am.

The crossing to Kapiti Island takes approximately 15 minutes.
The return journey commences between 3.00 and 4.00 pm.

Nga Manu Nature Reserve offers you an opportunity to experience New Zealand's unique native flora & fauna.

Tuatara - Kiwi - Morepork - Tui - Fantail - Native waterfowl - Kea - Kaka plus many other native birds.

Nocturnal house - Eel feeding (2pm daily) - Bush walks - Fernery - Wildlife Ponds.

Wheelchair access - Information centre - Souvenirs - Refreshments - Picnic & BBQ areas.

15 hectares dedicated to New Zealand Native Flora & Fauna. Educational groups catered for with displays - talks and educational resource packs.

Nga Manu Trust is a privately funded charitable trust dedicated to preserving NZ flora and fauna. The Trust promotes awareness and education of conservation needs. School groups and individuals are encouraged to utilize Nga Manu as a hands on learning experience.

Colourful Birds at Lindale


Farm shows in the Lindale Animal Barn are available any time with prior booking, or at 2pm every Saturday, Sunday, and Public Holiday. Additional shows are held during School Holidays. The show includes a shearing and milking demonstration, a talk about farming in New Zealand and an opportunity to hand milk a cow. Baby animals are fed by bottle. The show's duration is about 30 minutes.

Feeding animals on the Farm Walk


The opportunity to stroll at your leisure around the Lindale Farm Display. Visit the animal barn to handle and feed baby farm animals. Mingle with llama, alpaca, emu and many more farm animals.

The Lindale Centre also has an a farm yard, and a number of paddocks (fields) which hold display animals. A walk through the yard provides an opportunity for people to mingle with, feed, and pet lambs, chickens, ducklings, calves, kids, pigs, and rabbits. The walk around the farm displays a variety of sheep, cattle and goats. Deer, llama, alpaca and emu are also on display. Bags of food are available. Allow 30 minutes to complete the circuit.

KELANZ offers three levels of English language from elementary to advanced. Student You will be placed in the classes that match your entry level of English, and progress upwards if you wish until you achieve the required level of English language competency to enable you to enrol in a tertiary institution in New Zealand. KELANZ has cooperative arrangement with some universities and polytechnics to staircase students onto undergraduate and post-graduate programmes.
